Problem: CAMPOS ERROR.

    Diagnostic :
  • Red error flag "CAMPOS ERROR" in PMAS Status Window.

    Explanation :
  • The VME motor controller has experienced an error condition. The error may be related to a hardware problem, a software problem , or to a spurious error condition. If the error is prevailing despite the solution advised below, a more serious hardware failure must be suspected. Consult support for advice.

    Solution :
  • On rike prompt, type :
    
camReset
    
limevalSet
    
camInit
    
camStatus
    After camStatus, the following message should appear:
    CAM_STATUS: THEVERYFIRST
    
                               steps
    
CAM_SET_POSITION:              0
    
CAM_LIMITS:                    -1700 900
    
CAM_ACTUAL_POSITION:           0

    If this is not the case, reset the vme controller lea (reset button on lea frontpanel - do not confuse with abort button !) Repeat the sequence from above. If there is no success, call support.

    Note: it is possible to circumvent software control of this device to rescue an observation by manually moving the drive into best focus. There is a vernier screw mounted to the axis of the motor which can be used for this purpose. FOR CAHA STAFF ONLY !
