Fireball above Cuenca province (mid-east Spain) on August 18th 2021

At 00h20 UT of August 18th  2021, a bright fireball could be seeing above Cuenca province (middle-east of Spain).  

This object was registered with the SMART Project's detectors operated at Calar Alto (Almería), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), El Arenosillo (Huelva), La Hita (Toledo) and Seville observatories.

This time, two of the external surveillance webcams operated at Calar Alto Observatory in Almería, also recorded the nice event.

Nice Perseid above Castilla y León (center Spain) on August 12th 2021

At 21h58 UT of last night of August 12th, a nice Perseid flew above Castilla y León (center Spain) skies.

This fireball was registered with the SMART Project’s detector operated at Calar Alto (Almería), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), La Hita (Toledo), Huelva and Seville observatories.

One of the external surveillance cameras operated at Calar Alto Observatory (Almería) also registered this event, demonstrating the impressive transparency of Calar Alto Skies, being able to clearly seeing these objects happening 500 km away from the observatory, with normal cameras.

Fireball above Ciudad Real and Córdoba provinces

At 00:55 UT of August 10th, a bright fireball could be seeing above Castilla La Mancha. This phenomena has been registered with the SMART Project's detectors operated at La Sagra and Sierra Nevada in Granada, La Hita in Toledo and Seville as well as it was registered with the North and Northwest surveillance cameras operated at Calar Alto Observatory in Almería

Asteroidal origin fireball on August 6th 2021

Although all initial data pointed that this fireball was a re-entry of space debris in our atmosphere, new data have revealed that the origin of this object was asteriodal.

Last night of August 6th 2021, at 21h12 UT, lot of people living in Southern Spain could see the bright light on the sky caused by this fireball above Morocco.

The event was registered with the SMART Project’s detector located at Calar Alto (Almería), Sierra Nevada (Granada) and Sevilla observatories.

Two of the external surveillance webcams operated at Calar Alto Observatory in Almería, also registered the phenomena.

Impressive fireball above Almería (Southeast Spain) on August 5th 2021

At 00h22 UT of last August 5th 2021, a very bright fireball, ending with a huge explosion, flew above Almería’s skies (Southeast Spain).

This object was registered with the SMART Project's detectors operated at Calar Alto (Almería), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), La Hita (Toledo) and Seville observatories.

As this object happened very high above the horizon, some Calar Alto external surveillance webcams recorded the flash of the explosion, but only one camera pointing to the sky saw the phenomena completely. The video is impressive.
